Do female Budgies sometimes talk?
I cue up youtube videos to entertain my birds and I sometimes see budgies with tan or pink ceres being very vocal but on the comments the owner is sure the bird is male. As pure pets the females not stressed about giving away a nest site and might mimic their human caretakers like the males do.
My female is very vocal, no actual human words but she knows her name and responds to the ‘adam family’ tv show theme when I whistle if not perfect repetition. She does not look in the mirror and kiss it constantly as the blue nosed old male does so I don’t think I have a tan ceres male.
Yes they do but it takes a lot more effort to teach one to talk. The ones I saw were being trained right out of the nest.
