I’m scouting for deer in my backwoods, I’m trying to setup a realtime wireless camera that I can view on comp.
I am scouting wildlife out back in woods, I am trying to setup a wireless camera (small) in tree, where it can view deer. I’m also trying to figure out if it is possible to view what the camera sees on my laptop computer. If not able to on comp. then on tv. But I need the wireless range to be like 2 miles- 3 miles. Also trying to figure out how I would be able to keep a constant battery source to it. Maybe a small solar panel? How big of a panel would it be? Basically though I need it to be realtime, and hidden well, and at least a few miles, not 1000 ft or in that range. Also, most importantly it needs to be fairly cheap I mean very very very cheap. Do any of you radio, tech savvy guys and girls know some soldering way or electronic custom parts to build to make such a devise? Please help. Thank you, also be as descriptive as possible.
The range you want is the biggest problem. I don’t know of any way to cover that distance without getting a license for an RF frequency. A solar cell like they use to keep batteries charged in a motor home should keep a battery charged for the camera. The transmitter might be a problem here as it would need more power.
Cameras can be found cheap. I’ve used $40.00 cameras with good results. I just know of nothing that will send the distance you want.
If you can get the signal back, seeing it on your computer is not an issue. There are lots of programs around for that.
By the way, hiding it isn’t an issue unless there are people around that you want to keep it hidden from. The deer and other animals will ignore it.
