Best Format for a Camcorder? Brands? Specs?
I am buying a camcorder.. but the last time I handled a video camera, they were CALLED “video camera’s” and were huge pain in the butts over your shoulder that took VHS tapes. I’m only 20 so I was always too small to use them! So as you can see I’m in definite need of some education. I want to be able to watch what I record on a TV. The formats; (DVD, mini DVD, hard drive, High-Def) they all confuse me. I dont have too much to spend, but If I know what I’m doing then i can find the best for what I do have. I dont know if any brands are particularly good, or what specs i should want a camera to have. PLEASE HELP!!!
Check out camcorderinfo.com for comparisons. I would check out the Canon HV20. It is HDV, Mini DV, & has true 24p (the frame rate of film), great low light performance, & can be found for under $1000.
