See Your City Through Film

If you are like most of America, you are sitting, or recently sat in front of the TV watching your favorite television series. Can you name the major city where your favorite TV series is filmed? It’s pretty likely New York attractions, Las Vegas attractions or Miami attractions featured in your favorite shows and movies! For the “CSI” (Crime Scene Investigation) faithful, you will know the series began in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas is the shooting location for all kinds of movies and big-name entertainers. Elvis performed in Vegas, and today greats like Celine Dion and Elton John perform at Caesar’s Palace almost every day. The number of Las Vegas attractions is off the charts. Movie fans can take city tours to find out where some of these famous features were filmed. Las Vegas isn’t the only big venue for movies; New York is the home of some of the best movie locations. It wasn’t long ago that King Kong hung from the top of the Empire State Building or Godzilla trashed Madison Square Garden and the Brooklyn Bridge. Even the Transformers got into the picture when alien robots stormed the city. If you have seen “Men In Black,” you may want to visit the Manhattan Terminal, where you may recognize the entrance to the MIB headquarters. New York attractions offer some very interesting tours that will point out these famous movie sites, and not just the action movies, but the fantastic kind as well. For instance, parts of the family adventure-comedy “Night at the Museum” were filmed at the New York Museum of Natural History. Speedboats and fast cars were the props for “Miami Vice,” and today Miami is the site for the television series “Dexter.” A vibrant cultural hot spot, Miami has appeared in numerous films. Long white sandy beaches, a surging local night-life and numerous unique outdoor venues make Miami attractions some of the best in the country. Visiting any of these cities can offer a great opportunity to go on a media tour and see where your favorite film or TV series was created.
