Is this the new celebrity thing to do now?
First it was leaked sex tapes to the public. Following getting pulled over for drunk driving or high on some sort of drugs or pills, then it was rehab many celebrities went to, even if they said racist/homophobic things, they still went to rehab after their TV conference stating they are doing so. Now it seems it is going to be overdoses and/or suicide. Few celebrities hopped on this little earlier than others, but it seems Owen Wilson really brought it about when he tried it. Now Heath Ledger died from an OD. This is kind of like celebrity Russian Roulette, but with drugs/alcohol and no competition. They survive they have huge publicity and if they die they still get it, but cannot experience it.
Do you think we will see more of this? Maybe not as much as we did with the whole getting pulled over and rehab thing, but do you think more of this will happen with celebrities? Just an observation of how Hollywood seems to work with its new age of publicity. One wreck after another.
I’m not sure what’s up with them…I think producers should start doing piss tests and if they don’t pass they don’t get cast for roles. I know actors and actresses make or break movies…but most of the really good ones that ppl pay big bucks to see are clean. Like one person said, they aren’t doing anything that average young ppl in America don’t do…they’re just in the spotlight for all of us to see. Frankly, I think they need to focus on their careers and stop trying to see who can be the raunchiest. It is sad that he lost his life, don’t get me wrong, he was talented. That’s the worst part…they are throwing their talent away. But it’s nothing new…Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Kurt Cobain, Elvis, etc.
