Grillex–Home Churrasco Barbecue
If you want a truly memorable eating out experience, find your local Churrasco restaurant, starve yourself for a day or two, and then dine like you’ve never before! My son took me to one of these Brazilian inspired restaurants in New York City. First of all, I was amazed at the sheer quantity of food offered; the salad bar seemed like it was 20 yards long! Then, the skewered meats that were presented and carved table-side were outstanding.
When I saw the Grillex spot on an As Seen On TV Commercial, I began to salivate. This little stovetop assistant will allow the user to bring the Brazilian churrasco flavor to your own dining table. All you do is put the Grillex on a gas flame burner on your stove (even a camping stove will do) and place your skewered meats and vegetables vertically in the slots around the edge of the Grillex cylinder. You get the outdoor barbecue flavor without the smoke because the sizzling juices don’t drip onto the stove’s flame. The Grillex is perfect to prepare anything you can think of to cook on a skewer, from appetizers, to meats, vegetables and fancy desserts.
The grill can cook for up to 8 people, preparing nearly 4.5 pounds of meat in less than 20 minutes. It measures 14 by 18 by 16 inches, and comes with five standard skewers, a double skewer, a grill basket and sells for $80.
Grill Glove–Grilling Assistant
Probably one of the neatest items I’ve seen on As Seen On TV is the Grill Glove. This glove allows you to pick up or turn hot foods right off the grill without getting burned. You can throw out your rusted tongs and long handled fork ‘cause the Grill Glove does a much better job at picking up or turning your grilled foods. Using this glove, you can pick up a hot baked potato, flip steaks, or even pull an egg out of a pot of boiling water without feeling a thing! Hot Dogs were always getting away from me on the grill, but no more! It’s fabricated from 100% food grade silicone, so you don’t have to worry about chemically contaminating your food. Plus, it’s dishwasher safe.
This item is a “buy one, get one” plus they throw in a free “Lava Mitt” for handling hot pots and pans. As with all this type of offer, you have to pay the extra S&H charge, so the grand total is around $29 for everything. Still, if you grill a bunch, the Grill Glove will make your food flipping life a whole lot easier!
