Did anyone see the alarming TV programme on UK TV about the ‘Jesus Camps’ in the US? Children of 5 up crying.
A Pentecostal Children’s Mission working on the emotions of children and getting them into a religious frenzy. It seemed very worrying especially as one of the motives mentioned was that these children should grow up fighting the devil and voting in a particular way.
Those same children being programmed might end up as a religious mess.
I believe that we should indeed teach our children about God, Jesus and the wonder of the Gospel but these were too young to be activated in this way.
Rahab: one was in Missouri, another at Devils Lake, S. Dakota and the last I noted was at Colorado Springs. The ‘preacher’ or organiser was Becky Fisher and at one camp they were charging $60 a day per child, there were a lot there. Some became quite traumatised when told about how the devil wanted them to sin and that some of them had been ‘talking dirty’. It was really worrying.
yes i did, it broke my heart. Especially the young boy who didnt believe and felt so guilty that it tore him apart. I hope when he is a little older he has the courage to leave
