Hand held vegetable chopper for dicing onions help.?
I am after a vegetable (in particular, onion) chopper. I’ve seen one used on tv where they place the whole onion in a small container and push down on the handle and it dices it, I think in a couple of pushes. Maybe the blades spin around after the first chop and it makes the dices smaller as you keep pushing. Anyone know what I am talking about or what it is called. (I am not interested in any food processors or electric products which claim to chop vegies.
The one on TV is called a ‘Slap Chop’. I aquired a non-branded one at an op shop for $4 a while ago (new in box). They have them (more likely non-branded) at K-mart, BIG W, and other homewares shops. I have even seen them in a few asian bargain shops.
When you do aquire one, you won’t have to worry about crying anymore when you chop your onions. Just keep your eyes as far away as possible when opening it/lifting it off the bench, the ‘fumes’ tend build up and all release at once.
