Being that I am of Italian background, it’s safe to say I have had some hair issues. I have tried everything from shaving, waxing, depilatories, etc. All work fairly well, some not the results they claim.
So over the years I’ve tried a bunch of different hair removal products, and I’ve decided to share my opinions with everyone online; so hopefully you don’t make the same mistakes I did.
Emjoi Optima Review
This thing is like a mini shaving machine that tweezes out your hair. Trust me, it’s as painful as it sounds. This thing literally rips the hair out of you; so imagine what it’s like to use it on your bikini line; yikes. It includes a little shaver attachment, so if you don’t feel like tweezing the hair out of you and can just shave the more sensitive areas. The problem is, the shaver doesn’t really provide that well of a shave. It leaves hair behind and you can get a much better shave using an old fashioned razor and shaving cream. Plus it kind of defeats the purpose of using a hair removal product, the point is to remove the hair.
While the tweezers do work, it hurts too badly for me to use this again. I was literally crying by the time I finished my leg; it is much worse than waxing, because you aren’t ripping all the hairs out at once, you are plucking them at warp speed one by one.
I wouldn’t recommend it.
Does it remove hair? yes.
Does it hurt like crazy? YES!

Smooth Away Review
I had seen the advertisement for Smooth Away a number of times on TV, and eventually decided to try it and add it to my long list of hair removal attempts. Well, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. It’s this little pad that has super fine crystals that buff away hair, sort of like a sand paper. I’m not going to lie, it did take awhile to do large areas, but the smooth lasted for several days which is a lot better than my results with shaving and depilatories which tend to only keep me smooth for maybe a day at the most.
So, you have to decide between a quick fix (shaving) or longer results (Smooth Away). The application is pretty painless as well. There is a slight burning sensation, that comes from the rubbing, but other products are definitely worse.
When shaving you run the risk of razor burn and cuts, waxing, well, I don’t even need to discuss how painful that is, and depilatories like Nair, at least in my experience, I had a rash and some blistering, I think it was just a bad reaction.
I do think before you use anything, you should try smooth away out on a small area first. I did also find that Smooth Away works a lot better on areas with thinner, shorter hair, which makes sense. I searched around to find the best deal for Smooth Away and it seems like the TV and internet offer the best deal.

This is by far, the worst product I’ve ever used. I just put this here mainly as a joke because it is sooooo bad. I got suckered into buying this from an advertisement I saw online and just decided to try it on a whim.
It is a spray bottle of some sort of liquid concoction that is supposed to make your hair fall out. If it sounds too good to be true, that’s because it is! It did not work at all for me. Just do yourself and favor and avoid this one at all costs.
It’s not cheap either, a one month supply costs $50. Don’t be fooled by the fake reviews and ads online, it does not work.
