Where are the prophets, teachers, preachers, and apostles?
What people need is not some self declared prophet or apostle who comes in as a stranger for a two night stand singing scriptures, sweating words, and dancing on a stage to work the people up into a lather to hoop and holler them into giving him some of the money they don’t have so he can keep up his $300,000 salary and life style. (Of course God will still honor people who even think they are giving to His work.)
Who are these people? The Bible commands that we KNOW those who labor among us. How can you know some slick tongued preacher who appears for one night or appears on the TV window as a peeping tom into your living room? A real prophet of God is NEVER wrong. Teachers can be wrong. Pastors can be wrong, but a prophet cannot be or he is a false prophet. A prophet is supposed to be speaking from the mouth of God. Is God then wrong? No, the man is wrong because he is not speaking from the mouth of God.
Should we follow these self proclaimed geniuses from the heart of God’s own mind? The Bible says that a man does not have to declare himself to be anything, but that his gift will make room for itself. Those who labor among us are subject to closer scrutiny than just our own unreliable emotions. Many of these false prophets and teachers use our emotions as the trigger to open up our bank accounts and let them dip their scurvy little hands into it to take what they can without regard to anything but their own desire to be famous and rich. Many of these are deceived themselves “supposing that gain is Godliness.” They preach prosperity and tell you that if you follow them all your “troubles” are over. I want them to go and live in China, India, Pakistan, or Iran and say that. They would probably cower like a scaled puppy and not say anything.
There is a time coming in this country when preaching, teaching, and prophesying will not be profitable, but one will have to be persecuted for these beliefs. Let those money hungry miners then come forth. They won’t be found. They will have moved away to Borneo, Fiji, or Costa Rica to live on the riches you bestowed upon them.
Quit living on your emotions, my people, says the Lord. Be taught. Sit down in a school and learn the foundations of the principles and doctrines of the Bible. It is not easy always to sit and learn, day after day. We all want to jump up like little children at recess to go outside and play, and God does allow us to do this. His way is not a way of bondage and shackles. It is a way of rest and peace for your mind. We must be taught of Him, however, if we are ever to stand on any kind of foundation and not be constantly “tossed to a fro by every wind of doctrine, by the sleight and cunning of men whereby they lie in wait to deceive.” “…they would affect you, but not well, yea they would exclude you that you might affect them…” “Reproofs of instruction are “THE” (not “A”) way of life…”
To the man who comes in among you declaring himself to be a prophet, a teacher, a preacher, or anything: Say to that man, come and sit over here in a corner and be silent for awhile and dwell among us to know us first before you speak. Call each of us by name and fellowship with us. Break bread with us and converse at the dinner table. I tell you many of them will flee, for they desire the spot light to exercise their trade of telling fables and being heaped to those with itching ears to say those prosperity things, those “good” and smooth things that trigger the emotions like a race horse let loose from the gate with all that pent up energy to run with every fiber, especially to the bank and give them money.
To that man who says my gift is so important and so awesome and so dynamic that I must now immediately declare it before God’s people or they may perish, I say to them: What pride you have. What boldness you have to spit in God’s face and say He cannot take care of His people without you, you boastful mouthpiece of your own pride. Sit silent. Let your tongue be welded to the roof of your mouth. Sit in silence and do not speak until God tells you to speak.
Those who are doing a lot of the speaking we see on TV and those making the lecture circuits to collect their revenues, have propelled themselves by their own will and the money of others before us. Scripture: “They desire to be teachers of the law, but know not what they say or whereof they affirm”, i.e., where is it in the scriptures and is it even of the scriptures and does it even agree with what the scriptures say? They actually have no problem with soliciting money from the poor to pay their enormous tabs for TV time, for jets, for rental of stadiums, for rental of security at their enormous events, and for otherwise lavish amenities they declare are owed them and due by the natural order of God rewarding them for their great gifts. They also persuade you that you can to be greatly rewarded by much money and land and possessions because God has declared it and if you just give, to them, you will be rewarded and paid off by God many times over. These are not those who are speaking for God. They are those who are speaking for themselves and for their own fame, notoriety, and profit. Ask them sometimes, if they could just spare you the rent money for this month or a few bucks for some rice and bread and hamburger meat to cook and pour over the rice? You wouldn’t get past the 20 people they have hired with your money to insulate themselves from people like you. If you did, it may be because they read this article and found that it would be to their benefit to pass some kind of “humble” test and then they might do it for a few so the word would not get out that they are charlatans.
Then there are the biggest “mega” ministries in the world, namely Catholicism, Mormonism, Buddhism, Muslimism and others. Some call them religions, but I call them mega cults that millions upon millions are following without ever even seeing in person, much less knowing, those who labor among them. Of course the hierarchy of Catholicism has ONE MAN who is the supreme leader who everyone listens to, whose word is not questioned, whose doctrine is considered holy, etc. Does this sound like a cult? Yet, millions are made drunk and seduced, like the whore does in Proverbs. The whore in Proverbs has a deeper meaning, which is strange doctrine and strange religion. It is a series of human situations and emotions that mankind can relate easily to. That is why the Lord explained it this way. Strange doctrines and strange religion is like the strange woman, the whore. The ultimate whore is the one found in Revelation_____, who sits on a throne and wears white and purple….hummmm doesn’t the pope sit on a throne made of the same things with the same exact colors? Doesn’t he proclaim a false Jesus? A religious Jesus who is still up on a cross, who is somewhat effeminate and shows up in cheese its, tree limbs, and upon apparitions of screen doors. If it wasn’t so sad it would be humorous that people will travel many miles to see an apparition on a screen door but will not go across the street to hear the truth, because many times the truth will rebuke and correct and people want to be hypnotized to sleep and have easy things said to them and want to hear “good” and religious things.
Of course some of the other religions that were once on fire for Christ have turned into social clubs like Methodism, Presbyterians, Episcopals, etc. Even Baptists, which I consider the last great bastion of mega churches that have it somewhat right, at least as far as eternal salvation went, are now cracking and crumbling under the pressure of our evil society and beginning to compromise and hem and haw and not stand up before the firing squad and take the bullets like real Christians. Now there are smaller, unnamed simple Christian churches or small groups of people that are still on fire for God. They are out there, but many times are hidden, not begging for money to get on TV, not begging for money to help AIDS victims, etc. Like God told the prophet, “I have 5,000 that have not bowed the knee to Bail.”
So who are the real teachers, preachers, prophets, apostles, etc., among you?
They are those unassuming persons who dwell among you, do not desire your money, who do not desire fame, do not desire anything but for the will of God to be done, and admit that they do not always fill that bill or have all the answers and that you should never look to them alone, but you should hear them and test what they say against what the Word says, because we all, as humans, can be terribly off mark and deceived ourselves and have wrong doctrine and ideas. We must all be rebuked and reproved at times, which requires humility and sometimes submission to others and to Christ. Many of those great and dynamic personalities we see on TV and in stadiums could never do that, unless it was a “humble” test to allow them to continue in their pride and lavish lifestyles.
So then, is pride not of God?
That’s what the scriptures say:” ” . But we say all the time that we should have pride in our country in our children in our work, etc. and etc. We say to our children, “I am proud of you.” Is this wrong?
Consider what Proverbs says: Pride comes before a fall. Death and life are in the power of the tongue”, therefore what we say with our mouth has in it either death or life. We can either curse ourselves or our family or we can bless ourselves or our family. When you say you are proud, you play right into the devils own ploys. We should never say we are proud, we should say we are encouraged, we are privileged, we are pleased, rewarded, uplifted, etc., anything but we are proud, for pride is not of God. Yes, little words are very significant, especially when they come out of our mouth, never to be retrieved or changed. We can still repent of them, however, as God allows by His great mercy.
So then, is riches and a lavish lifestyle not of God?
I do not believe that riches are not of God, if they are given by God to us as a blessing or if we have been blessed enough to be in the right place at the right time to get them. However, what one does with riches is a different story. It is not of God to desire to be rich, although we all, at times, have definitely desired this, so that, of course, we could help God’s people, not realizing that God is not poor and can help His people with or without our money and riches, so that excuse for us to desire to be rich, does not calculate into a balanced formula. (Scripture: “Those that desire to be rich, desire to have themselves pierced through with many hurtful and harmful lusts that drown men in perdition…”). So should we desire to be rich? No, we should not.
Should we buy into the prosperity teachings, then?
Prosperity is not supposing that gain is Godliness. Prosperity is being rich in things that really are valuable, not in money or lands or possessions. It is desiring to be rich in peace, joy, contentment, kindness, and health. What does it matter what we have, except to behold our eyes upon it or show it to those around us in pride? What does it matter what we have, as long as we have peace and contentment? Be content with such things as you have, says the Lord, for I will never leave or forsake you. The just shall live by faith, not by reliance upon riches. Yet, the world equates riches with us being intelligent, having the answers, knowing what is right, etc., but usually nothing could be further from the truth. Usually the rich are complete idiots as to what is truth and are some of the unhappiest people on earth…it goes back to the scripture…hurtful and harmful lusts that drown men in perdition… King David was wealthy beyond measure, but at that same time he said “I am poor and needy…” He was not depending on those riches because they do make themselves wings and fly away. King Solomon was wealthy beyond measure but it was to give us Ecclesiastes and show us the vanity of wealth without Christ. I would say to spurn with all diligence the prosperity doctrine, if it equates money, lands, and possessions as prosperity and does not rebuke them and declare that prosperity is being rich in peace, joy, kindness, contentment, etc. Paul said I have learned to be content with such things as I have, whether with much or with little. It doesn’t matter for the Lord Christ Yahshua should be our riches and He is our provider.
What about a lavish lifestyle, then?
Well to have a lavish lifestyle one must be monetarily rich or well off. A lavish lifestyle, to me, is an outward demonstration of the pride of wealth and money, to show off to the world that we have arrived, we have achieved, we are on the pinnacle of the heap of man’s endeavors. We are the champion. We are the example for all to admire and aspire to. We soak up and feed upon the envy of others to be in our admired and rare position of wealth and power. Just don’t open your mouth, if you are a rich pride filled whoremonger, for even a fool is considered wise when he is silent.
Quit desiring to be rich and filled with goods and having need of nothing says the Lord to His people in this age of the Church of Laodicea. Quit listening to the false teachers and preachers and prophets that pervert my Word and twist what I have said to mean that we should desire to be rich. Yes, I will give when you give and will overrun you cup, but it will be with things that are of great value, not necessarily money. To those whom I bless with money, it is a great responsibility and you must avoid the chasm that runs beside it, not to fall in or be consumed. You must give to those in need and help, indeed, for this is your responsibility. I do not need your money, says the Lord, so quit saying I want to be rich so I can help “God’s” people. I am much richer than you and can help my people without your money that I give you. Ministries and churches, quit saying that your Godly work cannot continue without donations and money. Did I not perpetuate my Word throughout the world during the time of Paul without your money? Money has nothing to do with my Word going forth and performing the thing that I intend for it to perform. Money is so insignificant in heaven that the streets are paved with it, therefore quit desiring money, my people, for it is only a striving for you and a desire to see yourself increase according to your giving out of your need. I will indeed provide for you out of your need, when you give, but please stop expecting to get rich with money from the false teachings of prosperity.
To have much money is unhappiness and strife and brings to you those who desire worldly pleasures. Reject it in relation to giving and getting back money from the prosperity teaching or teachers. If you work to get riches and do, perchance, during your normal endeavors, this is alright and not evil, unless you then use those riches to promote evil causes or people. The root of much evil is not money. It is the love of it, and to teach the “give and get me money” doctrine is loving it. To hear the “give and get money back doctrine” and do it, is wasting your money. Give to the poor. Give to those who cannot repay, who are not rich and advocate giving to them. Give to God’s causes. Give in silence and secret so that no man sees it, or if you need a receipt at least do it without fanfare or expectation of being put on some false pedestal of man’s praise. Reject man’s praise and adulation, if you have money to give. Get your receipt and take it off your taxes and do not desire man’s praises. I am the rewarder. If you desire man’s praise, that is your reward.
Big TV and national ministries: I have something to say to you. You have become black holes, with begging as gravity and money as light. My people throw it in and it is consumed into insignificance never to be seen again. My people become poor with the expectation of a payoff that never comes, because it is based on carnal things. You continually say and beg that you cannot continue to do “God’s” work without money. If it is God’s work, then it will go on, with or without money. Is God poor? Is God so dependent on our money that we must have it to carry on His work? This is a lie that those ministries believe and are telling, in order to get more money to vanish it into black holes that cannot be seen but only by those in the middle of them who may be living lavish lifestyles that are hidden from the poor peoples view who are throwing in their money.
Then they tell me, well you try to get a spot on TV for half an hour for no money, bud! It costs many thousands of dollars. Well, maybe God’s money could be used to more effect by putting that money into a half way house on the corner that will be there for the next fifty years, than by buying a 30 minute time slot on TV that does nothing but generate more money and create a dynasty for some ambitious souls. Is that not what it is? A form of advertising to get more and more and promote the fame of individuals? No, you say, it is to get out the word and to send forth our great message that God has given to us or, in some cases, “exclusively” to us. It is to fight the fight in the courts. It is to allow the 10 commandments to be displayed. Well, I say that is pride and ambition and you are limiting God and even profaning His name by assuming that money can promote the Kingdom and promote His truth in this nation or in the world.
What if all that money that has been used to create the great dynasties of fame and fortune had been used by the local churches and small groups? What if all those millions and millions of dollars had gone to those churches and groups? Well, one man or group of men would not have become world famous and would not be wealthy jet setters for “Christ”, but there probably would have been a much more enduring legacy and effective deposition of truth in the hearts of every local community. With the great effect and affect that did not occur in the local communities but went to one man or one mega TV ministry, the word did not get out locally into local relationships and that dollar was wasted to promote the dynasty and therefore we now see the 10 commandments taken down, the homosexual agenda going forward, prayer taken out of the schools, the courts of the land changing the constitution, and on and on, because mighty decisions and laws that effect all of us, when traced back all come from the learning and relationships that happen in local communities. If the strong Christian presence and influence and money is going to a single “Black hole” dynasty, then the local Christian dollar and influence is sequestered to spiral downward into that abyss never to even come out on the porch and talk to the local troubled teen, much less go to the local public forum.
We have now put ourselves in the position that all we have now to put out those fires from every neglected local municipality implanting evil roots into free soil to grow tyranny are those TV mega ministries and law based organizations begging for our dollars to put out fires sprouting faster than can be doused. Is it too late for America? Will it be consumed by those local fires being started by those local neglected troubled teens who passed by our porches while we were supporting our dynasties?
Where are all those prophets, teachers, preachers, and apostles? I adjure them now to awake out of their sleep and teach their flocks words of encouragement and truth and not desire to become rich or famous or to be promoted before all the lit screens of old ladies shut in because of the TV chasm. Do not use your gifts to make you wealthy and famous and take you from where you are needed.
