Is 1080i compatible the same as 1080i?

I’m looking to buy an HDTV, and I’m looking at an RCA HD TV, it says on the website that the TV is 1080i, 720p, 480i, and 480p compatible. Now does this mean that the TV is fully high definition and will display the picture at 1080i, or does this mean that I must buy something to make the 1080i work. The TV is here… http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=11019324

Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated in this, I’m just trying to get the best product for my money, and I’m not too sure what too look for in HDTV’s. I see most TV’s have 1080i, or 720p directly on the box, not 1080,720, and 480 so I’m just thinkin that it’s not what I’m looking for. Any help would be appreciated… thanks a bunch.

That 32 inch set has a 1366×768 pixel display, which means that it will show 720p HD in full resolution and it will downconvert a 1080i source for equally good resolution.

720p is thoroughly adequate for HD on a 32 inch screen, so from the standpoint of displaying the various resolutions you’ve listed, including 1080i, it’s okay.
