Does anybody remember these commercials or PSAs?
These are two commercials or PSA’s I remember seeing between 1993 and 1997 on my local channels. These are two of my enduring childhood memories. I doubt anyone else may remember them as well as I can, but this is what I remember:
The first ad had a woman that was being bound by chains all over her body. I mean, it looked like she was standing there and then all these chains were being wrapped around her like lightning-fast. Her whole body was in chains, like a mummy of some sort. It was somewhat scary.
The second one had a girl in her room. Her house got flooded and she was swept under the waters. She was struggling against the flood but eventually drowned. I thought that was really sad. (Probably had something to do with flood insurance.)
Is there anybody else out there that remembers these commercials? If so, would you happen to know what each one was about, and do you recall when they came on TV?
there were some pretty good anti-drug PSAs back in the day. i remember in the late 90s there was one where a boy was smoking cigaretts, and he went to wash his face and when he looked up into the mirror the skin around his lips and mouth began to fall off. it was disgusting, and possibly my favorite. you can actually look up PSAs and there are probably some on YouTube
