What was the dumbest “as seen on TV” purchase you have ever made?
Heh. Anyone remember those garden rakes that had a pull lever on them so that they were supposed to rake your leaves and then you pulled the lever and it “clamped shut” and you were able to pick up the leaves and put them in the trash can? That was the dumbest thing I bought. And no it didn’t work a bit…the rake was weak and it didn’t even rake debris together let alone pick up little more than 2 or 3 twigs.
I bought a pool skimmer that was supposed to constantly skim the debris off the top of ANY POOL, and supposedly would fit any pool.I called them first to check and they told me yes it would fit an inset above ground pool. I ordered it for 20.00 plus shipping and when I got it it would not hook up to my outflow connecter. The cost of shipping it back was higher than the original cost so I went to the hardware store and had to buy 8 adapters to make it plumb in and work. I LEARNED FROM THAT EXPERIENCE to never buy that Billy May junk on tv again.But I also learned that if you want any of these tv sell objects/junk to wait six months and walgreens,cvs pharmacies, and now even Wal Mart has a “as seen on tv isle”..that will have all of this tv junk on it..at least This way if it is Junk(which most are) it can be returned without a penny lost, and instant refund, verses paying to have it shipped 2 ways and paying more than what it cost to start with..This is the only time I ordered anything like this off of the tv..now I simply wait untill it is in the stores, and try it that way
