yesterday i saw a heater that is supposedly made by the amish. does any one own one of these heaters??
how does it work? does it work well like they claim??? did your electric bill go up?

Yes, they only claim the mantle and surround is manufactured by the Amish. As to the electric bill being a concern, it is for me as well, that’s why I make sure anything I buy says it’s an Energy Star rated product! That’s what I would ask them, and as I’m sure it’s not, you can then search for a similar, freestanding electric fireplace anywhere else with that does have Energy Star products. Home Depot and Lowes are great places to start and right now is a great time to purchase that kind of product because they’re on sale for the Holidays! Plus, it’s better that you can see it in person, because most of these types are usually disappointingly small, they look dwarfed in person. Hope you find a great one!
