Does the absonic work or is it bad for you?
I picked it up from As Seen On TV and it’s really flimsy so i didn’t think it would work but i did what the instructions told me to do anyway. I was supposed to apply a “water based substance” onto the belt which was weird because i’ve never heard of an ab belt that needs a lotion or cream in order to function.
Anyway, it feels like it’s shocking my abs just a little but when i put it on the highest setting it burns intensely and i can actually see my stomach moving in and out. Is it really working?
Please don’t tell me how all ab belts are scams because i know for a fact that it’s possible to stimulate muscles with electrodes.
You are right… muscles can be stimulated with electrodes. However shocking and burning sensations do not sound safe. I would not trust an as seen on TV electrical stimulator. Also you will not get as good results with electrical stimulation as you would by actually doing the exercise. One reason is because when you actually do an ab exercise there are so many other small muscles that are working that you won’t get with your ab belt. You’ll get way more benefits and core stabilization with the real exercise. Also, you could have the nicest abs in the world but if there is fat over top of them no one will see them. The idea that stimulating your abs or even doing ab exercises will make you lose weight around your stomach is NOT TRUE. The only way to lose weight in this area is with overall weight loss through diet and exercise. Hope this helps!
